About this event

Join trained chef and baking instructor Kristin “Baker Bettie” Hoffman for a weekend of sourdough bread baking. We will be going away to a beautiful residence on Lake Michigan for a weekend focused on baking bread, relaxation, and connection.

During this weekend you will receive 8+ hrs of hands-on baking instruction that will cover a wide variety of skills and techniques.

Please note: for the safety of all those attending and my staff, I am requesting that everyone joining this event be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 (at least 2 shots) no later than October 1st, 2022, and will ask that you show proof of vaccination status. We will also be requesting that all attendants take a rapid covid test and show proof of negative no earlier than 48 hrs prior to arriving.

Obviously, gluten and other grains are a big focus for this weekend. However, some other things are a little more doable. Let’s talk and we’ll figure it out! TRANSPORTATION

The location of the house is Union Pier, Michigan. The exact address will be given to you upon booking.

  • If you are driving from Chicago, it is about a 1.5-2.5 hr drive (depending on time of day) drive via I-90. Keep in mind you will lose an hour during this commute as you will be going into eastern time.
  • If you are flying, the South Bend Airport is the closest and is about a 30-minute drive to the house. Uber and Lyft are available in the area or you could rent a car.
  • You could also fly into Midway or O’Hare and both will be a similar drive time, about 1.5-2 hours, depending on time of day. A rental car would be your best option from there as an Uber or Lyft will be quite pricey to the house from there.

Please reach out to me at [email protected] if you need assistance figuring out transportation to the location.
