Oreo Pie Crust Overview
- Skill Level: Beginner
This oreo cookie crust is just about the easiest chocolate pie crust you could ever make. It only requires three ingredients and can be made in less than 10 minutes.
An oreo pie crust can be used for both no-bake and baked pies or tarts. This crust can also be made with any flavor of oreo or other crisp cookie like graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or digestive biscuits.
How to Make Oreo Pie Crust
An oreo pie crust is similar to a traditional graham cracker crust in that the cookies are ground into crumbs and mixed with sugar and butter to create the crust.
Step 1: Make Oreo Cookie Crumbs
You can turn the oreos into cookie crumbs by pulsing them in a food processor or blender or by placing them in a ziplock bag and beating them with a rolling pin or meat mallet to a fine crumb. You can make the crust with the whole cookie, including the cream filling.
Step 2: Mix the Cookie Crumbs with Melted Butter
Mix the cookie crumbs with the granulated sugar and melted butter until they are completely coated.
Step 3: Press the Cookie Crust into the Pan
Press the cookie crumb into your pie or tart pan. I like to do this with a measuring cup to firmly press the crust in place and up the sides.
Step 4: Set the Crust
This crust can be used as is without being baked. Allow it to set in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes before filling it.
If you want a crunchier crust, you can bake it at 375°F (190°C) for about 8 minutes. Allow it to cool completely before filling it.
Tips, Tricks, & Techniques
- Pair this oreo pie crust with a no-bake cheesecake or to make a french silk pie even more decadent!
- Grind the oreo cookie crumbs very fine for a more cohesive crust, or keep the crumbs more coarse for a crumbly texture.

Oreo Cookie Crust Ingredient Functions
- Oreo Cookies are the base for the crust and the main flavor. The oreo cream filling also helps the crust hold together.
- Granulated sugar adds a little more sweetness to the crust. For an oreo cookie crust adding more sugar is optional as oreos are already pretty sweet however, if you are using a less sweet cookie base like graham crackers or digestive biscuits it’s a good idea to add the optional sugar.
- Melted Butter binds the cookie crumbs together to create a cohesive crust.

Oreo Pie Crust
This oreo cookie pie crust is so easy to make and can be used for any cheesecake, pie, or tart filling. This recipe can be used as an unbaked or baked crust and can be made with any oreo cookie flavor or other crisp cookie.
Ingredients
- 200 grams (7 ounces, about 2 cups once made into crumbs) oreo cookies (or other crisp cookie of choice like graham crackers, vanilla wafers, digestive biscuits, etc.)
- 50 grams (¼ cup) granulated sugar
- 113 grams (½ cup, 1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Place the cookies (200 grams/ 7 ounces) into a food processor and pulse until you have cookie crumbs. Alternatively, you can place them in a zip top bag and use a rolling pin to roll back and forth over the cookies until they are crumbs. Pour the crumbs into a medium bowl.
- Stir in the granulated sugar (50 grams/ ¼ cup) and the melted butter (113 grams/ ½ cup) until all of the crumbs are completely coated with butter.
- Firmly press the cookie crumb mixture into the bottom and up the sides of your pie plate or baking dish. The bottom of a glass or a measuring cup can be helpful to press the crumbs into an even layer.
- This crust can be used unbaked or baked. A baked crust will have a crunchier texture and slightly toasted flavor. If desired, bake at 375°F/190°C for 8 minutes. Allow to cool completely before filling the crust. If you are keeping the crust unbaked, place it in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes to firm up before filling.
